02 June 2008/ landscape

This is a view looking west on Hwy. 275 in northwestern Missouri, a few miles north of the town of Rock Port. The landscape in this part of the state, which is just to the east of the Missouri River floodplain, is relatively hilly farmland. It has been terraced, and this produces some interesting conditions, including this artificially level horizon and deep cut at the highway.

Is this a real photograph? Looks nicely apocalyptic.

Of course it's real...I was shooting into the sun, so that bleached out the sky and also created the lighting variance from center to edge. But, thanks for the comment!
